Welcome to the Hundred House Hotel and Fish in The Fountain Restaurant, a Georgian country house in the heart of the Roseland Peninsula, a declared area of outstanding natural beauty, offering visitors peace and tranquillity. Amongst various uses and ownerships throughout its recorded history, the charming building, dating back to the 1790s, hosted in the first half of the 19th century the Court House for the Hundred of South Powder. Later, in the possession of an Admiralty surgeon, it became a gracious gentleman's residence. During the 1950s, the Hundred House took on its status of an hotel, which nowadays - set in its own three acres of grounds - still retains that elegance and charm of a bygone era.

The park-like gardens offer the opportunity to enjoy a Cornish cream tea or a game of croquet on the lawn. Take a stroll through Pixie Glen or even sit by the lily pond, enveloped by the scents of sub-tropical flowering shrubs and plants. As the leaves and buds start covering the trees, the garden comes alive with birds singing, preparing their nests and feeding the chicks - even the swallows nest here twice yearly; and the buzzard oversees everything. In fact, wildlife abounds, the sight of the hotel's resident family of pheasants are a daily delight; guests can also admire the wonderful colours of the butterfly colonies, see bats flying at dusk, hear owls hooting at night and even catch a glimpse of a badger or a fox.

From the hotel, the Eden Project and the sea are only a few minutes drive away. The magnificent coastal footpath - mostly owned by the National Trust - provides access to quiet sandy coves and tidal creeks.
